The World witnessed God in cricket: Sachin Tendulkar, son of Ramesh Tendulkar was born on 24th April 1973 in Mumbai. Sachin Tendulkar was the youngest child of his family. As a child, he was very naughty. Neighbors hated Sachin because of his mischiefs in society. Sachin was uncontrollable at times. He started his school from IES NEW ENGLISH SCHOOL. Sachin was average in studies but he was always good at sports. Sachin was introduced to Ramakant Achrekar by his elder brother Ajit Tendulkar. Ajit Tendulkar was a famous club level cricketer in Mumbai.

Sachin was very much talented and his brother came to know this that he needs proper guidance and he can make it big with this sport. He never cared that Sachin is the kid but all he knew is if you have talent start working hard.

Achrekar sir liked Sachin Tendulkar’s talent and dedication and advised him to join a school at Dadar, Sharadashram Vidyamandir (English) High School. This school had produced many Test cricketers and was close to Shivaji Park where he practiced in the morning and also in the evening. During this period, Sachin also stayed with his uncle and aunt who lived nearby. During practice, coach Achrekar sir would put a coin over the stump, and the bowler who would bowl out Sachin would get the coin. In case Sachin remained unbeaten, then the coin was his’. This motivated Sachin and he earned many coins like this.

At school, Sachin played for the school team and his team won the Matunga Gujarati Seva Mandal (MGSM) Shield. During that period, he also played club cricket. He was in John Bright Cricket Club and played in Bombay’s premier club cricket tournament, the Kanga League. Sachin came into limelight when he made a partnership of 664 runs with his best friend Vinod Kambli.

One of the great Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar also encouraged him when he missed getting the Bombay Cricket Association’s “Best junior cricket award”, by gifting him his pads. Later on, Tendulkar overtook Gavaskar’s world record of 34 Test centuries. This is how you encourage youngsters who are the bright future of India.

Sachin made his Ranji Trophy debut on December 11, 1988, at the age of 15 for Mumbai against Gujarat and scored a hundred. After scoring consistently, he made his national debut for team India at a mere age of 16. He was hit on the nose aganist Pakistan. Everyone advised him to rest in the dressing room but his dedication and huger made him standstill on the pitch and that changed the entire scenario. From there on he became the highest run-scorer in international cricket both in one day and test cricket.

He also scored 100 centuries and is the only player to do so in the history of international cricket. In the 2011 World cup, he was the part of the world cup winning squad as the wait was over for him. In the 2003 World cup, he was the player of the tournament. In 2013 he retired from cricket and later he received the Bharat Ratna award for his jubilant contribution in cricket.
